Fantasy Premier League: Week 12 Recap

Arsenal (@Arsenal) have widened the gap again and are now four points clear at the top of the table.

This in large part due to the boneheaded error from Artur Boruc as seen above.

The Gunners had their chances early, with Wilshere (@JackWilshere) and Ramsey (@aaronramsey) each hitting a post, but the Boruc brainfart definitely swung the momentum in our favour.

Arsenal shifts over to Champions League (@ChampionsLeague) action today as they take on Marseille (@OM_Officiel).

The big story for the rest of the Premier League (@premierleague) gameweek had to do with some atrocious refereeing.

Yannick Bolasie of Crystal Palace (@Official_CPFC) and Wes Brown of Sunderland (@SAFCofficial) were both harshly shown red, though the latter just had his overturned by appeal.

But most stunning of all was Phil Dowd only issuing a yellow for this reckless challenge:

I think Su√°rez‘s (@luis16suarez) reputation for flopping preceded him here because that’s about as nasty as it gets.

The spikes even left two holes in right knee.

Just a dreadful call.

Later on, Luis sought out some revenge on Mirallas:

Tsk. Tsk.

Oh, and shout out to the Tottenham Hotspurs (@SpursOfficial), the supposedly superior North London squad, who were absolutely humbled by Man City (@MCFC).

Good thing you Lilywhites spent a fortune on all those players no one else wanted! Ya bums!!

Onto the fantasy!

I finally bit and used my wild card in the official game with mixed results.

It was definitely the wrong time to swap out Lukaku (@RomeluLukaku9)¬†and I made a mistake in leaving¬†Szczńôsny (@13Szczesny13) on the bench.

But I can’t really complain as I finally had a better than average week.

In both games, I selected the wrong captains (again) but didn’t pay as dearly this time around.

Truth be told, it was a brutal feeling having to watch¬†Ag√ľero (@aguerosergiokun) tear it up after dropping him from my Yahoo! squad.

His addition to my teams would have taken me from a good week to a great week.

Won’t make that mistake again! His form is too hot to ignore.

Nevertheless, I made slight upward increments and I hope that trend continues into the next set of fixtures.

Fantasy Premier League: Week 11 Recap

fuckRVP

You know what?

Fuck this shit.

I put off writing this post because I’ve had a bitter taste in my mouth since Sunday.

Arsenal (@Arsenal) saw their amazing run of form away from the Emirates come to an end.

Of course, the winning goal came courtesy of our very own Judas.

(Apologies to Judas for the comparison)

The over-the-top celebration we saw from RVP¬†(@Persie_Official)¬†after putting away the only marker of the match was especially tasteless and seemed like a direct response to¬†Wenger‘s statement that Persie will always be an Arsenal man.

I think it’s time to put that sentiment to bed, Mr.¬†Ars√®ne.

That fuck boy is a memory long gone.

He is also now a 30 year old man.

Lol.

All about how we respond now.

Saints (@SouthamptonFC) due up next. Won’t be easy.

Now let me show you show shitty I did in fantasy.

I thought this year was going to be something special for me.

Turns out, I’m sinking in fucking quicksand.

As you can see, I had the perfect candidates for the captain’s band in each squad and I totally botched the selection.

And I am also paying the price for deciding not to revamp my official squad with the wildcard as I suggested I would last week.

My team value is plummeting!

The international break could not have come at a better time.

I want to see Keano sodomizing some self-respect into the Irish national squad immediately.

Until we’re back, both Arsenal and¬†◊©÷ľ◊āreckedőĒngle‚ĄĘ¬†are in desperate need of a regroup.

Pray for us.

This shit really matters.

Fantasy Premier League: Week 11 Player Picks

What a time it is to be an Arsenal (@Arsenal) supporter.

The Gunners defeated Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) 0-1, only the second time a visitor has held a clean sheet against the German side at Signal Iduna Park (@SIGNALIDUNAPARK).

Arsenal now holds the distinction of being the first English side to beat Dortmund in their own stadium.

As it stands, AFC sit at the top of the league table, as well as the top of their UEFA (@UEFAcom) group, ahead by a goal difference of two.

As for¬†Aaron Ramsey¬†(@aaronramsey)? What can be said that hasn’t been said already?

He is playing like a £100m man and is, without question, the most in-form midfielder in world football.

Despite having had to play further back on the pitch in the absence of Flamini, he still manages to get forward, find space, and score goals.

And respect due to Giroud (@_OlivierGiroud_) for his little flicker and grabbing the assist.

According to the pundits, Arsenal were not supposed to win this match, nor the game previous against Liverpool (@LFC).

At this point, the anti-Gunners media are saying we will have proven ourselves only after we defeat an 8th place United (@ManUtd) side.

????

Ludicrous.

It appears there is still very little belief outside of the squad itself.

But you clowns keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I blame the likes of flip-flopping “super-fan”, Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan), aka THE SUPPORTER NO ONE WANTS, as well as the two Jamies of Sky Sports, Carragher and Redknapp, aka THE BUTT-HURT MERSEYSIDE TWINS.

Many seem to have bought into their deafening criticism.

Despite a recent lack of silverware, as well as shouldering massive debt due to the transition from Highbury to the Emirates, how many other clubs have managed such a high level of consistency?

Fuck these talking heads.

A few notables for this week.

First, despite my massive plunge last week in the official game, I opted not to start fresh and use my wildcard.

I swapped out the injured Michu (@Michuoviedo) for Oscar with my only free transfer and I think the squad looks pretty strong overall.

It was a tough decision to keep my Spurs (@SpursOfficial) players out of the XI and I considered using a 4-3-3 formation in order to retain Dawson.

However, the Everton (@Everton) fixture versus Crystal Palace (@Official_CPFC) was too juicy to leave Barkley (@RBarkley20) on the bench.

In the Yahoo! format, I finally moved on from Giroud in order to fit¬†Ag√ľero¬†(@aguerosergiokun) into my squad.

It’s a move I had considered prior to last weekend and I paid the price for not following through.

I predict there will be several goals each way in the Arsenal / Manchester United match tomorrow and would not be surprised to see Giroud put at least one away.

But with Kun in the running for top-PL-striker-of-the-moment, I can’t risk missing out on big points against with City (@MCFC) facing off against lowly Sunderland (@SAFCofficial). He is wearing the armband for me this week.

Not having any Citizens in my official squad is what is really likely to hurt me…

Nevertheless, I’m hoping for a big game from captain Lukaku (@RomeluLukaku9)!

A bit disorienting with there not being an early match today.

Still over an hour away until kick-off!

I would love to see the squads you are fielding this week! Share in the comment box below!

What Do Your XIs Look Like for Gameweek 11???

Breeze Brewin – “Road Rage”

breezebrewinHere at the PRISM, we are long-time supporters of the legendary Juggaknots (@juggaknots) crew.

Perhaps, you even caught our siblings post back in July where we featured the Juggs for the #GuelphMusicClub.

Either way, we regard Breeze Brewin as arguably the most under-appreciated MC in the game over the past two decades.

Fans who have been up on the group since their Fondle ‘Em days know that their musical output can be a bit sparse, to put it mildly.

Thankfully, there have been signs that the family unit is ready to break up their latest period of inactivity.

Breeze has taken the lead by dropping a new track and accompanying video.

Check out “Road Rage” below. It’s a banger.

P.S. When Kendrick (@kendricklamar) dropped his “Control” verse, in typical rap fashion, everyone jumped on the Big Sean¬†(@BigSean) beat and released their own versions.

The ONLY “response” worth hearing came from Breeze.

Dope and a completely original take.

Peep it if you missed it.

Fantasy Premier League: Week 10 Recap

Let’s start this post off with some good news.

Arsenal (@Arsenal) had the pundits eating their hats over the weekend, having made Liverpool (@LFC) look ordinary.

Brendan Rodgers stuck with his usual 3-5-2 formation and the Gunners made them pay by making the most of the extra space out wide.

The GIFs above shows a lovely individual effort from Cazorla (@19SCazorla) which gave us the early lead at the 19th minute.

The diminutive Spaniard is reminding us that¬†Mesut √Ėzil¬†(@MesutOzil1088) isn’t the only magician out there in the midfield.

And speaking of magic..

Just prior to the hour mark, Aaron Ramsey (@aaronramsey) smashed home his 6th Premier League (@premierleague) goal of the season (10th in all competitions) to double the Gunners lead and they never looked back.

Of course, the Reds were supposed to present us with our first “real test” of the year according to all of the “experts”.

But, now that Man City (@MCFC) finished with a 7-nil result this past weekend, of course we haven’t proven ourselves until we face them.

What a laugh.

After hammering Wenger in the press for years now, the talking heads seem determined to avoid doling out any credit.

All this despite sitting 5 points clear at the top.

Nonetheless, we have another tough fixture ahead of us tomorrow afternoon as we face off against Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) once more.

But I don’t think the German side were dominant when we lost to them previously and I think we can overcome them at¬†Westfalenstadion.

And this despite the loss of services from the likes of Mathieu Flamini, Kieran Gibbs (@KieranGibbs), and Jack Wilshere (@JackWilshere).

Once that’s in the bag, we can proceed with rolling over van Pussy (@Persie_Official) and the rest of the United (@ManUtd) scum at Old Trafford this Sunday.

As you can see, I tanked hard in the official game.

After scraping my way back into the top 100,000 last week, I plummeted like a stone and fell back to the 250k range.

I have made a point not to lose any points on transfers by using only one per week but I think it’s about time I break from that strategy.

I am missing out on too many in form players and sitting on too many guys I haven’t been interested in for quite some time now.

I was considering using my wildcard before I taper off completely but it is always ideal to save those for the double weeks as they start making their way into the schedules.

Really, as I stated prior to the weekend, I paid the price for sticking with¬†Giroud¬†(@_OlivierGiroud_) over¬†Ag√ľero¬†(@aguerosergiokun).

I am probably one of the only people who didn’t choose Kun and that definitely contributed to my sharp descent.

I have also noticed that many of the leaders in the official game make multiple transfers per week. So despite the fact that each additional transfer knocks 4 points off of your overall total score, it’s worth it if you’re averaging 70-80 points per week.

These are also the guys with the most valuable squads monetarily.

I’m learning more as I go but definitely need to speed up the curve if I want to match my early season pace.

You can also see that I joined two more private leagues in the official game and now sit second place in all four.

Perpetual 1st place loser.

But now I’m hungrier than ever, okay!!!

Did a bit better in the Yahoo! format but still just an average week.

I fell in the rankings here too but thankfully, only slightly so.

The biggest disappointment is the fact that I was 2 points out of first in one of my private leagues and now that gap has been widened again.

Oh, and it cost me sticking with Vorm, despite several better options being available.

Holding him at a discount and Swansea‘s (@SwansOfficial) upcoming fixture list convinced me to stick with him.

And for my loyalty, he got himself sent off via a red card and left me with a -9 on the day.

Swans had used all their subs in the game by that point, though, so it was kinda fun to see Rangel (@arangelz) step into goal and send the resulting free kick over the bar.

Anyway, hope you had a better week than I did.

We’ll be back again Saturday morning and will certainly be in better spirits!

Would love to see some of your own squads in the comment box below!
